A Virus is a software program capable of reproducing itself and usually capable of causing great harm to files or other programs on the same computer.

A Firewall is a system that limits network access between two or more networks. A Firewall can take the form of a piece of software installed on your computer, or a hardware appliance (often used in businesses). Normally, a Firewall is installed between a trusted private network and an untrusted public network. For example, the trusted network could be your home network or PC and the public network might be the Internet.
