Q: What is a Billion 3G router?

A: Billion have created a unique range of products that allow you to share your USB 3G Mobile Broadband connection via wireless (or the built-in 4-port network switch). It works just like a traditional ADSL wireless router - multiple PC's can share the same Internet connection and with appropriate configuration, the PC's can share files and printers too.

The feature that makes the Billion routers stand out is their 'dual interface.' They have both ADSL and 3G router capabilities in the same box. This feature, while primarily aimed at businesses, allows a very reliable Internet connection to be maintained. If your ADSL connection fails, the router will automatically 'failover' to the 3G Mobile Broadband connection, thus maintaining a connection to the Internet.*

Q: How easy is it to configure a Billion 3G router?

Configuration is performed via a web pages built in to the routers and it is a fairly simple job. To make your life as easy as possible, we have written a step-by-step guide with screen shots of the configuration pages, which we will e-mail you once you have ordered from us. For more information, please look at our Billion setup guide page.

Q: Are Billion routers locked to a network?

A:
No - Billion 3G routers can be used with any network, so long as your 3G USB modem is listed on the compatibility chart on the product page. This means you do not have to worry if you change provider at a later date, as your router can be re-used.

Q: I have a Video Sender on one or more of my TV's - will this effect wireless operation?

A:
Video senders use the same 2.4GHz frequency as WiFi, which can cause connectivity problems. If you own a Video sender, check the manual to see if it has the option of changing the channel. If the channel can be changed, select channel 1 (sometimes called channel A) and then set your WiFi channel to 13. Our router manual shows you how to change WiFi channel.
